Warm Up Exercises To Lose Weight

  It seems silly, but the warm up exercises you use each day before your full workout are critical to successfully losing weight over the long term. Do them wrong, or rush through them, and your fat-burning potential will suffer.

  Today we're going to go over a few unique warm up exercises that Asian women do prior to walking or other exercise that primes their bodies to drop inches and get lean fast.

  Warm Up Exercises To Lose Weight
  Honestly, you're not going to learn all of the best ways to lose weight from just a single short article or webpage. It takes a solid routine of specific guidelines to really get the most from it even if you're warming up the right way. However you CAN learn about a few moves that will get your blood flowing and increase your metabolism rate quickly.

  1. Reach for the sky
  This stretch is a great way for even those who are significantly overweight to be able to get their system going without possibly hurting themselves by overdoing it accidentally.

  Start in a standing position, with both hands hanging freely at your sides. Keeping your arms straight, begin to raise your hands in a semi-circle towards each other over your head. When you finish you'll look as if you're trying to reach for something on a high shelf above your head.

  Hold your arms and hands at that maxed out position for 20 seconds, and then slowly lower them back to your sides again. Do this twice, then add in a nice calf stand (raise yourself on your tippy-toes as you raise your hands above your head).

  2. Twist the night away
  Another of my favorite warm up exercises for people who may not be in the best of shape is the reach-twist move that really loosens up your core.

  Start in the same standing position as the previous warm up exercise, but this time instead of standing straight I want your legs bent a little bit. Not too much, just enough to bend the knees a bit.

  Then instead of raising both arms above your head as you did in the first warm up I want you to reach with your RIGHT hand across your chest to the left and twist your torso that direction at the same time. Almost as if you're reaching to grab something from someone with the hand that's further away from them. Reach as far as you can go, and hold it for 10 seconds.

  Repeat that move 5 times (with each arm) and you'll have successfully warmed up nearly 85% of the muscles your body uses in typical light exercise. More importantly you'll have set core muscles off BEFORE your true workout, which is important because you'll burn more calories throughout the routine now.

  This is why Asian women typically practice slower martial arts moves like "Tai Chi" for warm up exercises, to do specific moves that create tremendous force WITHOUT true effort...which is the key to actual weight loss later.
